MyUW Plus is a browser extension that adds course information — grade distributions, professor ratings, schedule filters, textbook info, and Wiscard balance alerts — to the University of Wisconsin–Madison course enrollment site. This policy explains what data the extension handles and where it goes.
To understand how many people use MyUW Plus, the extension sends a small anonymous ping to a database we operate (hosted on Supabase). Each ping contains only:

| Install identifier | A random ID (UUID) generated when the extension is first installed. It is not derived from you, your device, or your accounts, and cannot be linked back to you. |
| Event type | One of: install (first install), heartbeat (extension is installed and active, at most once per day), or usage (a feature was used on the enrollment site, at most once per day). |
| Extension version | For example, 1.5.1. |
| Timestamp | When the ping was received. |
That is the complete list. Pings never include page contents, courses you view or search for, your schedule, or any identifying information. This data is used solely to count installations and daily activity, and is not shared with anyone.
Your preferences (which features are enabled, color thresholds, filter settings, theme) are stored using Chrome's extension storage. If you are signed into Chrome, Chrome may sync these settings across your own devices; they are never sent to us. Course data fetched by the extension is cached locally in your browser.
The Wiscard balance alert reads the balance already shown on your MyUW homepage and compares it to your chosen threshold entirely on your device. Your balance is never transmitted anywhere.
To show its badges and filters, the extension requests publicly available data directly from your browser. These requests contain only what is needed for the lookup (a course name or an instructor name), and are subject to each service's own privacy policy:

Because the install identifier is random and stored only inside your browser, uninstalling the extension permanently severs any connection between you and previously sent pings — nothing that remains is linkable to you. If the extension's data practices change, this page will be updated and the effective date revised before the change ships.
